Négrette, the rare jewel of the appellation
For more than nine centuries, Négrette has been writing the history of Fronton wines.
Unique in the world, this emblematic grape variety offers a unique tasting experience, driven by the intensity of black fruits, the delicacy of violets and the complexity of spices.
A living legacy of the local winegrowing heritage, Négrette has been shaping the identity of our terroir for centuries. When you taste it, you'll be seduced by its refinement, freshness and incomparable personality. It gives birth to wines that are both elegant and expressive, with a rich aroma that reveals all the uniqueness of their origin.
A grape variety thousands of years old, Négrette was already given pride of place under the pontificate of Pope Calixtus II in 1119. It has survived the centuries without ever losing its unique character, and today accounts for almost 60% of the grape varieties grown in our vineyards. It remains the cornerstone of our quest for excellence.

In the heart of the South-West, just outside Toulouse...

At Château Clamens, each plot tells the story of a terroir shaped by time. On the ancient terraces of the Tarn, our 25-hectare vineyard draws its uniqueness from a remarkable geological heritage, in the heart of the Fronton appellation, just a few kilometres north of Toulouse.
Our soils blend boulbènes, composed of silt, sand and clay, with rougets, emblematic earth tinged with iron oxides. This diversity gives each parcel its own identity and contributes to the rich expression of our wines.
The vineyard also benefits from a privileged climate, at the crossroads of oceanic and Mediterranean influences. More than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, cool nights and moderate rainfall create the ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen slowly and harmoniously.
This alchemy between terroir, climate and know-how produces red and rosé wines of great elegance, in which the Négrette grape reveals all the depth, finesse and authenticity of the Grands Vins.
